We are searching for an experienced Quality Technician to Support the Quality and Manufacturing departments in the design and implementation of process control methods by performing the Key Job Responsibilities listed below.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Monitor the quality performance of production processes by summarizing/evaluating non-conformance and other process performance data, performing random in-process inspections and product audits.
- Development of and lead the implementation of Corrective and Preventative Actions.
- Assist/train/monitor operators in the use of process control methods, including tooling, measurement instrumentation and testing and resulting product Quality.
- Disposition nonconforming material including customer returns. Responsible for performing the quality evaluation of material or parts requiring MRB action and for monitoring the MRB cage to assure that rejections are processed in a timely manner.
- Perform calibration of inspection, process control and test equipment including coordination with calibration labs and generation of purchase orders for calibration work.
- Perform tooling validations. Keep track of tooling log. Perform periodic tooling inspections. Assist with process validations as needed.
- Perform first articles of manufactured product as needed.
- Perform 1st piece inspections as well as provide back-up for receiving, in-process and final inspection as needed.
- Perform process/quality system audits as required.
- Meet established efficiency and Quality requirements.
- Record pertinent information on work orders, labor tickets, etc. according to standard operating procedures.
- Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
- Upon FAA DMIR approval perform DMIR work as needed (conformity inspections, 8130-3 tags).
- Conducts FAA Repairman inspections and generates return to service tags as required.
- Controls inspection, test and process change stamps.
- Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested.
Skills and Experience:
- Associates Degree or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years performing technical work in a manufacturing environment.
- Applicable experiences include blueprint reading, dimensional and electrical characteristic measurement, failure analysis, hands-on assembly, inspection and/or testing in an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality environment.
- Non-Destructive Testing, ASQ Certification, GD&T, CMM experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Thorough understanding of dimensional measurement setup, inspection and instrumentation, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages, etc.
- Knowledgeable in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, Design of Experiments, and Continuous Improvement methods.
- General knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and test software.
